RICHARD OLVER
The inspiration for my paintings is the beauty of the natural and man-made world. Actual scenes are usually the starting point but I often simplify and exaggerate to create a harmony. The images are intended to lift the spirit! Many of my pictures have been influenced by visits to the Med, Asia and Africa where I was attracted to the intensity of light and colour. I work in acrylic, pastel, watercolour or mixed media.I have lived in Bath for forty years and took up painting after 27 years' teaching.
